The incident took place around 6:15 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 3, at the store located at 56 Boston Ave., Bridgeport, said Rowena White, spokeswoman for the Bridgeport Police Department.

When police arrived on the scene, the store manager told them she had received a call from the store's Park Avenue location warning her that two people had attempted to steal items and may be headed for the Bridgeport store.

According to the manager, a black man and woman entered the store and grabbed a bunch of clothing while she was standing at the door to try and block their departure, White said.

As the duo fled the store, they both pushed the manager into the door and fled in a gray Acura four-door sedan with other people waiting inside. The manager was able to get a partial license plate number of AR37, with a possible ending of 46, police said.

A review of the store's video surveillance shows a black woman in her 20s, 5-foot-7, with a medium build, wearing gray sweatpants with a stripe down the side, gray jacket, red and white sneakers, and a head wrap, along with a black man in his 20s, approximately 6-feet-tall, with a heavy build, wearing maroon shirt, gray sweat pants, and sneakers with white bottoms.

The manager said the two took six pairs of pants valued at $100 each; eight t-shirts valued at $80 each; five hoodies, valued at $150 each, and five crew sweaters valued at $120 each.

The manager, whose hand was bleeding from being shoved, was treated at the scene.
